at around 4:55am EST, we shutdown the Apache service for about 3 minutes to install the latest stable release 1.3.37 (mainly a bug/security fix) — all is well now, sorry for the hiccup.

we have completed the task of migrating all WordPress installations to 2.0.4 - please notify us of any issues you encounter with your blogs as a result of this upgrade so we can address them in a timely manner. thank you!

Here’s our todo-list for next month (not in particular order):

- TOS (terms of service) account compliance audit
- pruning inactive accounts (use it, or loose it, buddy! :))
- notifying individual users to reduce their WordPress plugins to 25 or less (will be mandatory by 11/06)
- mandatory upgrades to WordPress (2.0.4-out) & Gallery (2.2-in beta testing)
- add more tutorials to the Knowledge Base
- centralized phpMyAdmin frontend
- a designated mod_security error landing page

starting today, please expect intermittent slowdowns & connection delays between 1:00am and 6:00am EST — the reason being is that we chose this new timeslot to run our automated local/remote backup scripts among other things. this will be a daily issue since we only have one machine to work with. hopefully by the end of the year, extra funds will be available so we can purchase additional harddrives and even add a 2nd low profile machine to handle the backups.
